Hey, I’m Ashley!

Hello! I'm Ashley and I was born and raised in Southern California. I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years. My yoga journey began when I was 14 as a way to take care of my physical body and begin to explore a spiritual path. I was a competitive athlete and wanted to use yoga as a way to relieve the stress I put on my body. At this time, I began exploring Eastern philosophies and holistic practices for wellbeing.

Over time, yoga became an integral part of my life, offering a sanctuary to heal, transform, and learn about myself. Yoga has always been here for me over the past 15+ years. No matter how far I strayed from the path, I always found my way back to Yoga. Through my yoga practice, I have discovered the power of commitment, resilience, and inner strength, as well as the beauty of grace, surrendering, and compassion. Yoga has been an important practice in my healing journey in which I have learned everything happens exactly the way it is supposed to happen.

Today, I am a 200 hour registered yoga teacher and want to share my personal insights and knowledge I have gained along the way. I hope to empower students to explore their body, mind, breath, and soul through yoga, breathwork, meditation, and other embodiment practices.

For me, Yoga is not just a physical practice but a holistic way of living, according to the Yoga Sutras. Yoga is all about freeing our body and mind so we can hear the voice of our own souls. I believe in the power of cultivating a deep connection with one's authentic self and connection to the Universe. With this perspective, I hope to help others explore their own unique journey and provide a safe and nurturing space for students to connect, heal, and grow.

My adventurous spirit has taken me to many corners of the world. It was during a solo surf trip to Nicaragua that I fell in love with the small coastal village of Popoyo (and a handsome surfer boy;). I decided to make Popoyo my home and I now teach yoga at the Two Brothers Surf Resort and host Women’s Yoga & Surf Retreats.

My love for the ocean and surfing parallels with my yoga practice. I believe that being in the ocean and embracing the power of the waves allows me to confront my fears of the unknown, tap into the inherent flow of life, and experience pure joy. Surfing, like yoga, is a practice that helps me to stay present, balanced, and connected.

I am a student always. I stay committed to having an open mind to continue to learn and experience. As I continue to evolve and deepen my practice, I am committed to sharing my passion for yoga, surfing, and the ocean with others, inspiring others to embrace their own beautiful and unique path.
